Owner - Getaround Connect for Tesla
Currently Getaround Connect for Tesla is only available in Norway.
Cars respecting the following criteria can be installed with Getaround Connect:
- The car must not be older than 12 years and its mileage must be inferior to 150 000 km.
- Accessible by a pedestrian (i.e. : no closed parking)
The owner must also meet the following conditions:
- You must have two sets of key cards (or key fobs) to the car.
- Please note that Instant Booking will be activated for your car as long as Getaround Connect is installed. Find out more about instant booking here.
How to activate Connect on your Tesla
For Tesla's there is no need for us to install the Getaround Connect device, as we can connect directly to the car’s operating system.
PIN to drive
As we do not directly connect to the car’s immobilizer, we recommend you activate PIN to drive on your car.
To activate the PIN, go to Touch Controls > Safety > PIN to drive, on the touch screen inside the car.
You enter the PIN code in your pick-up instructions, and the driver enters it on the screen in the car every time they start it.
When PIN to drive has been activated, please follow these steps:
- Go to the relevant car page and choose “Get started”
- Once this is done, click on “Confirm your request”
- Add the car’s VIN number
- Connect your car to Getaround
- You will be redirected to Smartcar, where you’ll be asked to give Getaround permission to connect
- Create a Virtual Key
Manage Your Rentals
To prepare your rentals, be sure to:
- Leave the key card (or key fob) in the glovebox.
- Keep your calendar updated at all times to avoid any cancellations.
- You are required to have at least 25% battery at the start of the rental. Please go to this article to learn more about how we manage EV recharging adjustments.
