What is a photo appraisal?

Our photo appraisal provider is an organization in the TIC sector (Testing, Inspection and Certification) which provides a remote damage appraisal service. They are a neutral third party and their aim is to provide fair and accurate damage estimations in a quick and easy manner.

How does it work?

When you submit a claim, our Claims team will review your file in order to determine the best course of action. For minor/cosmetic damages or damages that don’t affect the safety of your car, your damage photos will be sent to our photo appraiser, where expert assessors will inspect and compile an estimation for the repair costs in line with the current market value and a fixed man hour cost. The process is as follows:

Please note: in order for the photo appraiser to accurately assess the damage and for your claim to be resolved as quickly as possible, you will need to provide clear, good quality photos (from close up and far away. Providing photos that are blurry, taken in the dark or taken when the car is dirty will be unusable and will only delay your claim. Examples of how to take good photos can be found here and here.

What are the benefits?

  • Quick resolution to your claims within 48 hours.

  • Fair assessments and compensation.

  • No loss of revenue or disruption to your service, you will be able to continue with your rentals as usual, without having to cancel your following ones.

  • You can choose to have your car repaired immediately, or you can save the funds and have all the damages repaired at once. For example, you notice a few cosmetic scratches on the rear bumper, this is an area that is more susceptible to damage, so instead of repairing each damage individually you can wait and have them all repaired at once, which is much more cost effective and saves time.

  • Once the claim has been declared and we have all the necessary documents/photos, there will be nothing further to do on your part.
