Driver - Payment Methods for Camera-Based Parking

Artikkel oppdatert ‪29/04/2025‬

When using a camera-based parking spot, the available payment options depend on the parking operator:

1. Payment on exit Before leaving the parking area, visit the payment machine and enter the car’s plate number to pay for the parking.

2. Mobile App - Enter the car’s plate number in the relevant parking app, which will automatically charge you based on the duration of your stay. - Payment procedures may vary by parking operator, so always check the instructions provided on-site. - Important: If you choose to use an app, you must remove the car’s plate number from the app after your rental ends. Otherwise, you may continue to be charged whenever the car enters a camera-controlled parking area.

3. Online Payment - Many parking operators allow online payment for up to 48 hours after leaving the parking spot. - Visit the operator’s website, enter the car’s plate number, and follow the instructions to check the cost and complete the payment.

4. Invoice - If no payment method is used at the time of parking, the car owner will receive an invoice for the parking cost. - In this case, an invoice fee will be added, and you will be charged through Getaround to reimburse the owner.

Using Apps for Parking and Charging

Some parking and charging operators offer an app as a payment method. The driver registers the car’s plate number in the app, and charges are applied automatically when using camera-based parking or connecting to a charging station.

Driver Responsibility - The driver is responsible for removing the car from the app after the rental ends. - If the plate number is not removed, the driver may continue to be charged whenever the car is parked in a camera-controlled area or used at a charging station.

If the driver incurs charges for another user’s parking or charging, they are responsible for covering these costs. Getaround will not issue refunds for these charges.
