Guide to replacement cars

With the Essential or Premium protection, in the event of a breakdown or an accident, you can request a replacement car from our roadside assistance (subject to availability at the time of the incident, as well as to the driver’s age and possession of a license). Please note that a bank card will be required to pay the deposit, and that any additional deductible reduction you may wish to purchase will be at your own cost.

For Norway only, in the event of a breakdown or an accident, you can request a replacement car from our roadside assistance regardless of your protection (subject to availability at the time of the incident, as well as to the driver’s age and possession of a license). Please note that a bank card will be required to pay the deposit, and that any additional deductible reduction you may wish to purchase will be at your own cost.

How to request a replacement car:

In the event of a breakdown or accident, contact the roadside assistance: on your rental in the app, go to “Help” > “Contact roadside assistance.” A technician will be sent to your location to assess the car.

If the car is no longer roadworthy, the assistance will tow it to an authorized garage and offer its services to help you (and any passengers of the car) continue your journey.

If possible, take photos of the dashboard showing the fuel gauge and mileage at the time of the incident.

If the rented car cannot be repaired within 24 hours or less, a replacement will be made available while the repairs are in progress, for a period not exceeding the date of the end of your Getaround rental.
