Which payment methods are accepted to pay for a rental?

Accepted payment methods:

• Mastercard

• Visa

• Visa Electron

• CB (Carte Bancaire)

• Corporate card

• PayPal (only in Germany and Austria)

All payments are secured via 3D Secure protocol. If your card is not compatible with 3D Secure, you will not be able to complete your booking. In this case, we recommend contacting your bank to activate this feature.

• Prepaid bank cards

• Nickel cards

• Maestro cards

• Chase Manhattan cards

• KBC cards

• PayPal (only accepted in Germany and Austria)

• American Express cards

Important remark: Due to a high rate of payment issues, Revolut cards may be declined in certain rentals considered to be high-risk. This can depend, for example, on the driver’s rental history on the platform or the category of the reserved vehicle.

Can I pay the owner directly instead of paying on the site?

No, it is mandatory to pay via the Getaround platform.

This ensures that your rental is covered by insurance.

If an owner asks you to pay outside the platform, this is a violation of the terms of use, and you will not be covered in case of any problem.
